Class, webinars offered during ‘America Saves Week’ to help people build wealth

Release Date: February 04, 2016

TAVARES – As part of “America Saves Week,” Feb. 22 – 27, The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension in Lake County is offering in-person and online educational classes to help people build wealth instead of debt.

“America Saves Week is the perfect time to review your finances, set your savings goals for the year, and set up a system that will allow you to save automatically,” said Julie England, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent, who is coordinating the events. “People are more likely to save either for short-term or long-term goals when it is automatically deducted from their paycheck.  That’s why the America Saves Week theme is ‘Set a Goal. Make a Plan. Save Automatically.’”
