Lake County to present its State of the County program on Tuesday, Dec. 1

TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will present its State of the County at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1 in the County Commission Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
The program will outline the most notable accomplishments of the commission during fiscal year 2015, including economic development and tourism achievements, cost-saving initiatives and quality of life improvements.
The State of the County presentation will begin promptly at 9 a.m. with an introduction by Chairman Jimmy Conner and the induction of retired Tavares Elementary School music teacher Lynn Bain into the Women’s Hall of Fame. A brief intermission will follow with refreshments served.
A regularly scheduled County Commission meeting will take place after the intermission. At the start of the board meeting, commissioners will also elect a chairman.
