SBDC once again offering ‘Start-Up Basics’ course by popular demand
Release Date: February 08, 2013
TAVARES – The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UCF-Lake County, funded by Lake County and residing in Lake County’s Business Opportunity Centers, once again will offer an opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn how to start a business at a free seminar entitled, “Start-Up Basics.”
Stan Austin, Area Manager and Certified Business Analyst, will help entrepreneurs understand what it takes to start a business; discuss business plans and the importance of preparing one; and explores the legal entities – sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation and Limited Liability Corporation. The seminar will also help determine the local, state or federal licensing requirements needed to operate.
“Stan was very knowledgeable and made the material easy to understand,” one student said after the class was offered in January. “He gave great examples, tied concepts together and held my attention.”
Registration is recommended, as the course is popular and space is limited. The seminar will be offered on the following dates:
• South Lake Business Opportunity Center
20763 U.S. Highway 27, Groveland, FL 34736
6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21
• North East Business Opportunity Center
1520 S. Bay St., Eustis, FL 32726
6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28
The SBDC at UCF-Lake County provides existing and prospective entrepreneurs with high quality business management counseling, entrepreneurial training and information access and transfer, enabling them to maximize their businesses' growth, competitiveness and profitability within their trading area.
