Lake County premiere golf course tees up for prosperous year

EUSTIS – Black Bear Club LLC, operator of Black Bear Golf Club, located at 24505 Caluso Blvd. in Eustis, recently reported record financial gains for the 2011 fiscal year. The company’s revenue increased 40 percent over the same period in 2010.
Black Bear Golf Club, considered one of Lake County’s premier golfing venues, realized substantial revenue growth in all areas of its operations. The club’s net profit margins came in at 14.5 percent and it saw a 15 percent return on cash vs. capital invested. In addition, green fee play increased 32 percent and membership revenue climbed 45 percent.
“This is another testament to the great amenities Lake County offers its citizens and its visitors,” said Scott Blankenship, Director of Economic Development & Tourism for Lake County. “We are very excited about the increase in the number of visitors, as Lake County continues to be a desirable destination for tourists.”
Lake County’s Tourist Development Tax revenues, which are collected on all accommodations and short-term rentals in the county, is up 13 percent for January 2012 as compared to the same period last year, and saw a total increase of 5 percent for 2011.
