Impact Fee Waivers

Transportation Impact Fees: The Lake County Board of County Commissioners recently approved the renewal of an ordinance that suspends transportation impact fee collections on new developments until March 1, 2013.

The ordinance amends Chapter 22, Article 3 section 22-37 of the Lake County Code, and states, in-part that, "the Board of County Commissioners wishes to stimulate the local economy by encouraging economic development and promoting job creation; and transportation impact fees are applicable to all types of development, including residential, commercial, office and industrial development, and can be a substantial component of a developer’s total development costs."

Educational impact fees: The Lake County Board of County Commissioners recently approved the renewal of the suspension of educational impact fee collections until April 1, 2013.

The ordinance amends Chapter 22, Article 2 section 22-22 of the Lake County Code, and states, in-part that, "the Board now finds it is in the best interests of the citizens of Lake County to extend the suspension of educational impact fees for an additional year."
